The International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, has taken a bold stance by filing an arrest warrant request for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The request, which also includes Hamas leaders, is in response to their roles in the conflict during Israel’s war on Gaza and the subsequent Hamas-led attack on southern Israel in October. Despite warnings of backlash, Khan is steadfast in his belief that all nations should be held accountable equally for alleged war crimes, regardless of their alliances.
