Hamas Urges US to Pressure Israel for Ceasefire Agreement
Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya reaffirmed commitment to a ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal by US President Joe Biden, despite delays by Israeli PM Netanyahu. Al-Hayya called on the US to hold Israel accountable for its agreements and pressured to honor them.
Rejecting any restart of negotiations or repetitive cycles, al-Hayya criticized Netanyahu for evasions and urged real pressure on Israel. He emphasized the need for a halt to Israeli aggression, Gaza’s reconstruction, and a meaningful prisoner exchange deal.
Amid ongoing genocide in Gaza, Hamas continues to stand firm against Israeli violence, supporting Palestinian resistance movements. A new draft agreement on a prisoner exchange is expected soon, addressing key points in the conflict.
Despite international condemnation, the brutal offensive on Gaza persists, resulting in a humanitarian crisis with thousands killed or wounded, predominantly women and children. The Israeli war has caused mass displacement and severe famine.
