The government and PTI are urging Balochistan National Party-Mengal chief Akhtar Mengal to reconsider his resignation as an MNA, emphasizing the importance of his voice in representing Balochistan in the National Assembly.
Mengal resigned due to frustration and lack of freedom in parliament, as well as the apathy towards the insecurity faced by the people of Balochistan. Despite serving as an MNA and the chief minister of Balochistan, recent security challenges prompted his resignation.
A government delegation visited Mengal to convince him to withdraw his resignation, acknowledging his valuable contribution to championing Balochistan’s rights. However, Mengal remains steadfast in his decision to resign, citing ongoing injustices in Balochistan.
Veteran PPP politician Raza Rabbani highlighted Mengal’s resignation as a distress signal from Balochistan and called for immediate attention to address the region’s grievances through dialogue. PTI also urged Mengal to rejoin the parliamentary struggle to address Balochistan’s issues effectively.
