French Rugby Players Fly Back Home After Involvement in Mendoza Rape Case
French rugby players Hugo Araudou and Oscar Jégou have flown back to Paris after being involved in a criminal case. A woman in Mendoza accused them of sexual abuse after a match. Both players were under house arrest for 36 days before being allowed to leave Argentina by Judge Eleonora Arenas. Despite media attention, they flew back with minimal coverage at the airport.
The players’ lawyer expressed confidence in the case being dismissed and hopes for their return to play in Argentina. They posted bail of AR$ 20 million and await a decision on a psychological evaluation. The players were detained just before a match in Montevideo.
