Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, recently criticized the US and its allies for fueling the war in Ukraine by supplying lethal weapons. Iravani highlighted that the West, particularly the US, has prolonged the conflict in Ukraine, causing harm to civilians and infrastructure.
Iravani refuted allegations that Iran is involved in the sale, export, or transfer of arms to Russia, emphasizing that such claims are baseless. He also countered accusations of Iran supporting terrorism, pointing out that it is actually the United States, not Iran, that is the main supporter of terrorism globally.
In a letter addressed to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations, Iravani highlighted the hypocrisy of the US and its allies for accusing Iran while being directly involved in escalating the conflict in Ukraine through the supply of advanced weaponry. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to upholding international humanitarian law and denounced the US for its role in supporting terrorist regimes like Israel.
The letter calls for the rejection of unfounded allegations against Iran and urges for the distribution of this correspondence as a document of the Security Council.
