China urges negotiations following Russia’s assault on Poltava

China’s stance on the “Ukraine crisis” remains steadfast, emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire and a political resolution to the conflict. In response to the horrific Russian attack on an educational facility in Poltava, resulting in over 50 deaths, China reiterated its call for all parties to halt hostilities and work towards a peaceful solution.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of de-escalation and preventing further conflict, urging restraint and the creation of conditions for a political settlement. Despite maintaining neutrality since the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, China has refrained from condemning the violence on both sides.

The recent attack in Poltava, which claimed the lives of 53 people and left nearly 300 injured, has elicited condolences from foreign leaders. As the situation in Ukraine intensifies, the international community continues to advocate for peace and stability.

This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the human cost of war. It is imperative for all nations to come together to support Ukraine and work towards a peaceful resolution.
