Bandi Sanjay criticizes Telangana govt for tribal woman rape attempt

In a recent incident in Telangana, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar raised concerns over the alleged attempted rape and murder of a tribal woman, comparing it to a similar incident in Kolkata involving a doctor. Kumar criticized the state government for not responding adequately, emphasizing the need for preventive measures against such crimes. He also accused AIMIM members of being involved in crimes against women in Telangana.

Furthermore, Kumar took a dig at AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for not addressing the issue, questioning his priorities regarding safety and communal incidents. The minister stressed the importance of police impartiality and urged officials to resist government pressures to avoid untoward incidents.

The incident in Jainoor town resulted in communal tensions, prompting a curfew after protests against the auto-rickshaw driver’s assault on the tribal woman. The victim is currently receiving treatment in Hyderabad, with the accused arrested and charged with sexual assault and attempted murder. Despite the peaceful situation in Jainoor, the minister’s concerns highlight the ongoing challenges of ensuring safety and justice for women in the region.
