The Pakistan Army’s Battle Against Terrorism: A Comprehensive Overview
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revealed that the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies conduct over 130 operations daily to fight terrorism. In a recent press conference in Rawalpindi, DG Sharif provided insights on the country’s security efforts.
With 32,173 intelligence-based operations conducted this year, including 4,021 in the past month resulting in the elimination of 90 terrorists, the fight against terrorism remains a top priority. The sacrifices of 193 soldiers who embraced martyrdom in 2024 were also honored.
Highlighting a recent successful operation in Tirah valley against banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other organizations, the ISPR DG emphasized the security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism. Furthermore, he addressed the August attacks in Balochistan and reiterated the military’s resolve to combat internal and external threats.
As the nation grapples with heightened security concerns, including attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the government and military have pledged unwavering support to protect civilians. The recent surge in terrorist activities has prompted a swift response from security forces, with 37 terrorists eliminated and measures in place to prevent further threats.
