Palestinian prisoners in several Israeli prisons, including child prisoners, are suffering from an outbreak of scabies due to retaliatory measures imposed by the Zionist prison administration since October 7th. The lack of cleaning materials, reduced water quantities, limited shower time, and withdrawal of clothes have contributed to the spread of the disease.
Due to these conditions, many detainees are infected with scabies, with their bodies covered in blood and ulcers from severe itching. Despite the spread of the disease, the prison administration knowingly transfers infected prisoners, leading to a further increase in infections. Child prisoners in Megiddo Prison are among those affected by this inhumane treatment.
The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society have condemned the Israeli prison administration’s actions and called for immediate action to address the situation and provide proper medical care to the infected prisoners.
