Warning to Karachi police: No TikTok videos allowed

The Impact of TikTok Videos on Police Duty

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC), Arif Aslam Rao, has raised concerns about the increasing trend of police officers making TikTok videos during duty hours. In a directive to DSPs and other AVLC officers, SSP Rao emphasized that creating and sharing TikTok videos during duty hours is a clear violation of the law.

Officers and employees have been reminded that making TikTok videos without permission is a criminal offense. Strict adherence to these guidelines has been mandated, with severe departmental action promised for those found in violation.

Recently, a lady constable in Karachi was suspended for making a TikTok video in police uniform. The video went viral on social media, prompting DIG South Syed Asad Raza to take action against the constable, Maria Gill. DIG Raza emphasized that such behavior is irresponsible and not acceptable in a professional institution like the police force.
