Kyiv –
The Ukrainian government experiences a major shake-up as the Minister in charge of weapons production resigns to take on another defense role. Alongside him, four other ministers have also stood down, leaving over a third of the cabinet vacant. This significant event comes at a critical time in the ongoing war with Russia.
The resignations include Strategic Industries Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin, Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna, as well as the justice, environment, and reintegration ministers. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his political allies may need to swiftly appoint replacements to restore order within the government before his upcoming trip to the United States.
During his visit to the U.S., Zelenskyy aims to present a “victory plan” to President Joe Biden, a crucial ally for Ukraine. The changes within the Ukrainian government signal a readiness to address challenges and strengthen the country’s position in the face of external threats.
