Idlib, Syria – Meet Abdul Qader Youssef, a 30-year-old football enthusiast who lost his leg 10 years ago but continues to pursue his passion for the sport. Despite facing challenges and displacement due to the Syrian conflict, Youssef never gave up on his love for football.
Can’t give up
Youssef, along with his team Al Tahaddi (Defiance), participated in the local Paralympics organized by Syrian NGO Violet, showcasing their talent and determination. The event brought together over 300 athletes to compete in various sports, highlighting the resilience of war victims and people with disabilities.
‘The beginning’
Despite a challenging match against Al Ruwad, Al Tahaddi showed spirit and determination on the field. Youssef, though disappointed by the outcome, sees this championship as a new beginning for their team.
As Youssef continues to inspire others with his story of perseverance, his journey in football serves as a reminder of the power of passion and determination in overcoming obstacles.
