The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramadan Mohammed Abdallah Goc, emphasized the importance of training diplomats within South Sudan to better understand and serve the country’s interests. He urged junior diplomats to forge partnerships with other nations for the benefit of the people and the government. Goc encouraged the diplomats to continuously enhance their skills and be prepared to take on leadership roles in the future.
Goc highlighted the significance of ongoing training for diplomats, emphasizing that graduation from university is just the beginning of their learning journey. He cautioned against focusing solely on seeking deployments abroad, stressing the importance of learning from experienced diplomats in foreign missions in South Sudan.
The minister advocated for diplomats to be trained within their own country, rather than abroad, to ensure that their skills align with the interests of South Sudan. Undersecretary John Samuel Bwogo announced the graduation of 123 diplomats and interns, with plans to continue training more in the future.
