A British Hindu former parliamentary candidate, Rajiv Sinha, was detained for five hours and denied entry to the occupied West Bank by Israel as part of an interfaith delegation. Sinha, also the director of Hindus for Human Rights UK, was travelling with a multifaith group organized by Sabeel and Rabbis for Ceasefire to visit various sites and meet with Palestinian figures.
During the border crossing, Sinha was detained, questioned, and his possessions confiscated. Guards asked about his religion and family names, showing interest in his Hindu identity. Eventually, he was denied entry citing public security concerns, which he found unjust and intimidating.
Despite the ordeal, Sinha remains committed to activism and unity, seeing his Hindu beliefs as a guide toward oneness with humanity and the planet. His experience sheds light on the challenges faced by Palestinians daily, reinforcing his determination to advocate for justice and equality.
