Anambra State Government Warns Parents Against Enrolling Children in Illegal Schools

As schools prepare to resume for the 2024/2025 academic session, the Anambra State Government is cautioning parents to only enrol their children in government-approved schools. The state Ministry of Education, led by Commissioner Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, emphasizes that sending children to “illegal” schools will result in parents facing consequences and potential prosecution.

Chuma-Udeh warned about unrecognised schools where children are left unsupervised, leading to incidents of violence and injuries among students. She urged parents to ensure their children are enrolled in government-recognised schools to avoid any complications.

Stressing the importance of quality education, Chuma-Udeh echoed Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s stance on children’s rights, stating that any violation of a child’s right to education will be taken seriously by the state.
