Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch joined other heads of state and government at a reception hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit in Beijing. Representing King Mohammed VI, Akhannouch leads a delegation including ministers and business leaders at the Summit from September 4 to 6.
FOCAC, in its 24th year, symbolizes the strong partnership between China and Africa, emphasizing solidarity, cooperation, and respect for sovereignty. Established in 2000, FOCAC became significant in 2006 with China’s pledge of a $5 billion development fund for Africa.
This gathering underscores the growing ties between China and African countries, promoting economic and social development on the continent. With Morocco’s active participation, the Summit seeks to strengthen existing partnerships and explore new opportunities for collaboration, showcasing the importance of mutual respect and sustainable cooperation in international relations.
