7 killed in Lviv in new wave of attacks on Ukraine

In the midst of escalating Russian attacks on Ukraine, tragedy struck in Lviv with seven people, including children, killed in a fresh wave of strikes. The city’s mayor, Andriy Sadovy, reported that Russia had launched drones and hypersonic missiles, resulting in devastating casualties. Meanwhile, explosions rocked Kyiv as air defenses battled incoming missiles, and Kryvyy Rih also felt the impact with reports of injuries.

The Ukrainian military issued an air alert nationwide, as rescue efforts continued in Poltava after a military institute was targeted, leaving at least 50 dead. President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed that Russia would be held accountable for the attacks and called for increased air defenses.

Despite being relatively untouched by the conflict, Lviv suffered energy infrastructure damage in recent strikes. International support is pouring in, with the Irish government set to announce €43m in aid for Ukraine, bolstering humanitarian efforts and aiding in long-term recovery. As tensions escalate, the world watches with bated breath for any sign of de-escalation in the region.
