Revolutionizing Data Infrastructure: Kazakhstan’s New Fiber Optic Network
In a recent statement, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov announced the ambitious project of laying a new fiber optic network across the Caspian Sea. This initiative is part of the Digital Silk Way project, aimed at creating a state-of-the-art data storage and processing network.
The fiber optic lines will connect Kazakhstan with the countries of the Persian Gulf, enhancing the country’s infrastructure to support new technologies and attract major tech companies. Astana Hub, a hub for innovation and investment, will play a key role in this development, providing a conducive environment for both local and foreign companies.
Kazakhstan aims to make 90% of its government services mobile-friendly and establish a comprehensive digital ecosystem by 2029. The National Center for Artificial Intelligence will drive the development of AI products and solutions to further bolster the country’s technological advancement.
The Trans-Caspian Fiber Optic Line, a crucial component of the Digital Silk Way project, will create a digital telecommunications corridor between Europe and Asia, fostering connectivity and innovation on a global scale.
