Federal Prosecutor Guillermo Marijuan and Buenos Aires City Congressman Yamil Santoro have filed criminal complaints against former President Alberto Fernández. This comes after Martín Guzmán, the former Economy Minister, suggested in an interview that the Covid-19 lockdowns were extended for political reasons rather than public health concerns.
Marijuan has cited “abuse of authority” while Santoro believes Fernández should be held accountable for “unlawful deprivation of liberty” against the population. Fernández is already facing criminal charges for alleged corruption and domestic violence.
