Euro-Med Monitor reports deaths of 2,122 elderly in Gaza conflict

The Tragic Toll on Gaza’s Elderly: A Call for International Action

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor revealed a heartbreaking statistic – 2,122 elderly individuals lost their lives during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. This accounts for 2% of Gaza’s elderly population and 4% of all Palestinian martyrs in Gaza since October 7. The elderly were not spared from the violence, becoming targets in a conflict that has brought immense suffering.

The monitor emphasized that these actions have no justification and called for international intervention to stop the bloodshed. The elderly were killed in bombings, under rubble, and even through direct targeting. The Euro-Med Monitor urged Israel to end its attacks, lift the siege on Gaza, and allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need.

As the world watches in horror, the call for justice and peace grows louder. The international community must act swiftly to prevent further tragedy in Gaza.
