Baghdad aims to collaborate with Wartsila in energy sector

Baghdad Seeks Cooperation in Energy Sector with Finland’s Wartsila

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, has expressed the government’s ambitious strategy, inviting Finnish companies to participate in various industries, particularly the energy sector. This call to action was made during a meeting with the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Anu Saarela, and officials from Wartsila, a Finnish company specializing in power sources and energy equipment.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties in politics, business, information technology, and digital technologies, where Finland excels. Al-Sudani also highlighted a contract with Wartsila for the maintenance of the Samarra power plant, signaling progress despite delays in its execution since 2019.

Wartsila, a frontrunner in renewable energy solutions, offers cutting-edge services for managing advanced energy systems. With the Iraqi government’s forward-looking approach and Finland’s expertise in the field, the partnership holds great potential for future collaboration.
