Army pledges to safeguard gains in counter-terrorism efforts after Balochistan attacks – Pakistan

The recent surge in terrorist attacks in Balochistan has prompted the military to reaffirm its commitment to not let the hard-earned successes against terrorism be wasted. Dozens of militants, affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), carried out multiple attacks across the province, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property. In response, security forces neutralized 21 militants.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir presided over the Corps Commanders’ Conference to discuss national security challenges and strategic responses to emerging threats. The military emphasized the importance of a robust legal system in combating terrorism and criminal activity.

The forum also expressed solidarity with Kashmiris and condemned the violence in Indian-occupied Kashmir and Palestine. The military remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Despite the increase in terrorist attacks, the military is prepared to uphold its standards to ensure peace and stability. The Pak Institute for Peace Studies reported a rise in terrorist incidents in August, with most attacks attributed to the BLA in Balochistan. The group’s tactics, including targeting Punjabis, aim to exploit grievances and gain support from the Baloch population.
