Amman – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh and Regional Director of China Three Gorges International (CTGI) Renewable Energy Partners Mohammad Abu Atieh recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore green hydrogen projects in Jordan. The MoU aims to produce 200,000 tons of green ammonia annually, strengthening the collaboration between the Jordanian government and CTGI.
These feasibility studies will determine the potential for a new green hydrogen project, with future plans for investment agreements based on the study results. Minister Kharabsheh emphasized the significance of this partnership, envisioning Jordan becoming a hub for hydrogen production and export.
This partnership aligns with Jordan’s strategy to position itself as a leader in green energy production, building on its renewable resources and strategic location. The initiative supports the Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2033) and highlights Jordan’s commitment to clean energy and investment in green hydrogen projects.
CTGI’s Regional Director Abu Atieh praised Jordan’s support for their power generation efforts. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and CTGI, showcasing a united commitment to green energy development.
