Former Nagorno-Karabakh President Samvel Shahramanyan, who moved to Armenia after the Azeri takeover, emphasized that the security of Armenia is his top priority. He has informed officials that ensuring Armenia’s security is crucial. Shahramanyan stated his readiness to negotiate with Azerbaijani authorities regarding the issue of return. He highlighted the importance of setting the right tasks and cooperating with Armenian bodies.
Regarding the return of captives in Azerbaijan, Shahramanyan acknowledged ongoing efforts but refrained from disclosing details, following PM Pashinyan’s lead. On August 31, Pashinyan criticized unrealistic statements made by former Nagorno-Karabakh officials about the return of Armenians, stating that such remarks contradict national interests.
