Breaking News: Explosions and Fires in Kiev
The city of Kiev is currently in chaos following a series of explosions and fires. Mayor Vitali Klitschko has dispatched emergency services to multiple areas where reports of damage and injuries have been received.
According to eyewitnesses, loud explosions were heard throughout the city. The Pravda newspaper has reported that 2 people have been injured and several buildings, including cars, a boiler house, and company premises, have caught fire in three districts of Kiev.
Ukraine is on high alert, with neighboring Poland also taking precautions by putting its aircraft on standby. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that Russia has targeted Kiev with ballistic missiles, but their air defense units successfully repelled the attacks.
This comes after a previous attack by Russia that resulted in casualties and targeted energy facilities. On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry claims to have intercepted and destroyed Ukrainian drones while gaining control of cities in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
