PDP will not control disciplinary committee on Wike – The Guardian Nigeria News

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) affirmed its commitment to the independence of its disciplinary committee and stated that it will not interfere in the committee’s decision-making process. Led by Tom Ikimi, the committee is tasked with addressing issues of anti-party activities within the party.

In response to reports suggesting that Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike was instructed to appear before the committee, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, emphasized the party’s adherence to its rules and constitution.

Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed that petitions regarding anti-party activities during the primaries have been compiled and forwarded to the committee. The leadership has been made aware of concerns from party members regarding Wike’s actions.

Ultimately, the PDP maintains that no individual is above the party, and the disciplinary committee will operate independently to address any instances of misconduct within the party.
