Power Outages Impact Thousands
The Victorian government predicts over 120,000 homes will be left without power due to the weather conditions, with the southern region, the south-west coast, Geelong, and Shepparton being the hardest hit areas.
SES Receives ‘Significant’ Amount of Calls
The SES has responded to over 2800 call-outs in the last 24 hours, primarily for trees down and building damage. Warragul, Moe, Emerald, and Corio were among the busiest areas.
Road, Rail, and School Disruption
Public transport services in Melbourne have been affected by the weather, with schools like St Helena Secondary College and Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School closing for the day.
