A criminal investigation has been launched following the tragic death of serviceman Edgar Sarkisovich Aleksanyan. His body was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound in the combat position of the defense zone of the N-th military unit of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings under Article 522, paragraph 2, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. An investigation team has been assembled, and a forensic medical examination has been scheduled after an external examination revealed a gunshot wound to the chin area, with no other signs of violence present.
The case is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding Aleksanyan’s untimely death.
