Geagea condemns Hezbollah’s conflict with Israel

The leader of the Lebanese Forces political party, Samir Geagea, has criticized Hezbollah for involving Lebanon in a conflict with Israel without consulting the people. He accused Hezbollah of disregarding the Lebanese people’s right to decide on matters of war and peace, claiming that they have imposed a war that the citizens reject. Geagea emphasized that this war does not benefit Lebanon or alleviate the suffering in Gaza.

Hezbollah, backed by Iran, maintains a significant arsenal and is seen by some as a shield against Israel, while others view it as a separate entity within the state. Geagea called for the government to intervene and urge Hezbollah to cease hostilities. With Lebanon facing political instability and economic crises, tensions on the border have fluctuated, with recent casualties on both sides.

The ongoing violence has resulted in hundreds of deaths and displaced many, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to prevent further escalation. Geagea’s plea for an end to the conflict reflects the growing concern over the impact of Hezbollah’s actions on Lebanon’s stability and security.
