DKS supports R V Deshpande’s CM aspirations

In a recent development, veteran Congress leader R V Deshpande has expressed his willingness to become the chief minister if the situation demands it. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has responded to this statement by emphasizing that the chief minister’s post is currently not vacant.

Deshpande’s statement, made in Mysuru, has sparked debates in political circles about the potential replacement of current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, especially if the High Court verdict goes against him in the alleged MUDA site allotment scam. Despite these speculations, Shivakumar reiterated that Siddaramaiah is currently leading the government.

While acknowledging Deshpande’s seniority and ambitions, Shivakumar suggested that Deshpande should not have discussed his chief ministerial aspirations in the media. He also reassured that there will be no impact on the party if the court’s judgment is unfavorable to Siddaramaiah.

Meanwhile, Mankal Vaidya has also endorsed Deshpande’s eligibility for the chief minister’s position. The political landscape in Karnataka seems to be evolving, with leaders positioning themselves for potential leadership roles in the state.
