Unidentified suspects carried out a series of attacks in Meragai, Buner district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They set fire to a government primary school and detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) as the police inspected the scene. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in either incident.
According to Israr Khan, the spokesperson for the Buner district police, the incidents occurred in the hamlet of Meragai near the Chargharzai area. The attacks were attributed to the banned militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
A local eyewitness heard an explosion shortly after the schoolgirls left the school, raising concerns about the safety of the students and residents in the area. Faisal Zeb Khan, a former MPA, highlighted the security challenges along the border between Buner and Shangla.
These targeted attacks on educational institutions and law enforcement indicate a volatile situation that requires immediate attention and action from authorities to ensure the safety of the community.
