Transparent and Democratic Snap Parliamentary Election in Azerbaijan
Recently, Azerbaijan held a snap parliamentary election that was praised for its transparency and democratic process. Aygun Attar, from the Security and Foreign Policy Council under the President of Türkiye, commended the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan for their professional preparation and overseeing of the election.
The voter turnout was reported at 37.27 percent, with over 2 million votes cast at 5,895 polling stations. The presence of over 112,000 local observers and 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries demonstrated the international interest in the election.
Out of the 990 registered candidates, a significant number were affiliated with political parties, showcasing a diverse political landscape in Azerbaijan. The participation of a large number of women in the election was also noted as a positive sign of inclusivity and representation.
Overall, the snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan was a well-organized and successful democratic exercise that highlighted the country’s commitment to fair electoral processes.
