Recent reports from Ukraine’s Sumy Region reveal the destruction of a HIMARS launcher and its munitions in a strike allegedly carried out by a Russian warplane. The Russian Defense Ministry shared footage of the attack, claiming it targeted a location where the Western-donated rocket system was concealed.
The strike occurred in a settlement known as Kondratovka, located near Russia’s Kursk Region. Ukrainian forces crossed the border under the pretext of creating a “buffer zone” on Russian territory. The footage captured the precise moment when a bomb hit the target, resulting in a significant explosion.
The Russian Ministry of Defense disclosed that the strike eliminated a HIMARS launcher, sufficient munitions for six barrages, a loader vehicle, and a support car. This incident highlights the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with Kiev utilizing Western-provided weapons in their incursion into the Kursk Region.
Ukrainian President, Vladimir Zelensky, referred to the operation as a “victory plan” and plans to present it to US President Joe Biden. The success of this plan hinges on American support and resources.
