Turkey and Iraq are strengthening their cooperation in the fight against terrorism, according to Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Keceli. Keceli emphasized that both countries are committed to ensuring concrete results in their joint efforts and increasing coordination between their authorities. He highlighted Iraq’s designation of the PKK as a banned organization and the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding on security and military cooperation as significant steps in this partnership.
“Turkey is fully committed to the fight against terrorism,” Keceli stated, underscoring Ankara’s determination to combat terrorist organizations, including the PKK, within the framework of self-defense under international law. He also mentioned ongoing coordination with Iraqi authorities to address any incidents effectively.
