President Bola Tinubu embarked on a state visit to Beijing, China, for the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit, themed “Joining Hands to Advance Modernisation and Build High-Level China-Africa Community with Shared Future.” His Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, confirmed the trip in a post on X.com.
During his visit, Tinubu is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and engage with Chinese business leaders to enhance economic collaboration and attract investments to Nigeria. He will also visit prominent Chinese firms, including Huawei Technologies and the China Railway and Construction Corporation, to boost the completion of the Ibadan-Abuja segment of the Lagos-Kano rail project.
The Nigerian leader’s itinerary includes meetings with CEOs of top Chinese corporations managing over $3 trillion in assets in sectors such as ICT, oil and gas, aluminum production, seaport development, finance, and satellite technology. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and foster economic development between Nigeria and China.
