The updated General Regulations for Polish Soldiers emphasize that beards must be well-maintained and tattoos must not convey unacceptable messages.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz acknowledged that the previous strict regulations caused frustration among soldiers. He specifically mentioned the burdensome requirement for dermatologist approval for facial hair.
These changes are expected to boost morale and enhance comfort for soldiers, particularly in hot weather conditions where short sleeves are preferred. Despite these updates, certain restrictions such as piercings, ear tunnels, and skin modifications like scarification remain in place.
