Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that nearly 160 Ukrainian drones were shot down in a coordinated attack across 15 regions, including Moscow, marking one of the largest assaults since the conflict began.

Days after a significant attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure by over 200 Russian drones and missiles, Sunday’s widespread drone assault near Moscow hit a coal-fired power plant and a Gazprom-owned oil refinery within the city. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported drone damage to a technical room at the Moscow Refinery.
Authorities in the Tver region reported downing five drones near the Konakovo thermal power station, with unverified videos showing explosions. The attacks caused flight delays or reroutes across Russia. Both countries have increasingly targeted each other’s energy infrastructure to weaken military capabilities.
