During his visit to Gummi, he expressed sympathy and concern for the victims of the recent flood, reaffirming his commitment to providing aid and support.
The governor emphasized the importance of unity and patience in the face of adversity, urging the people of Gummi to see the disaster as a test from a higher power. He announced plans to allocate land for the victims to rebuild their homes and to construct new drainages in the area to prevent future disasters.
The Sole Administrator of Gummi Local Government Council and the Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency both praised the governor for his prompt response and assistance. The devastating flood affected nearly 10,000 households and resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of farmlands.
