Kogi PDP elects new leaders for 2027 elections – The Guardian Nigeria News

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has undergone a significant political shift by electing new leadership, signaling a strategic move towards the Kogi East Senatorial District in preparation for the 2027 elections. Enemona Anyebe emerged as the new Chairman during the state congress held at Kefas Hall in Lokoja, with 1,943 delegates in attendance.

The congress marked the end of the previous caretaker Executive Council led by Senator Danjuma Lah and introduced a new set of officials to govern the party for the next four years. The newly elected leaders include prominent figures such as Alhaji Yahaya Karaku, Sunday Olufemi Ibrahim, and Hon. Paul Ukwenya, among others.

Senator Istifanus Gyang, the chairman of the Electoral Committee, praised the smooth conduct of the elections and emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability among the new officials. He reiterated the PDP’s status as a major political force in Africa and emphasized the party’s commitment to democratic principles.

The congress was attended by notable personalities, including former national and state assembly members, INEC officials, and party stakeholders, highlighting the party’s strong presence and influence in the region.
