Union calls for general strike
In a significant move, Israel’s largest trades union federation, the Histadrut, announced a general strike to pressure the government into a ceasefire agreement. The strike aimed to disrupt major sectors of Israel’s economy, highlighting the urgency for a peaceful resolution.
The strike received support from key economic sectors and influential figures, underscoring the widespread frustration over the captives’ deaths. While the opposition leader endorsed the strike, the Finance Minister sought court intervention to halt the nationwide protest.
