Israel asserts killing of PIJ commander in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the killing of Muhammad Katrouy, the commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Central Camps Brigade, in Gaza. The IDF stated that Katrouy was responsible for coordinating rocket attacks toward Israel from central Gaza and planning various attacks against Israeli forces. The PIJ has yet to comment on Israel’s statement.

In a related development, the Israeli army conducted a large-scale raid in the northern West Bank, resulting in the deaths of two Palestinians in Jenin. The operation has caused concerns over possible shutdowns in hospital departments, especially affecting dialysis patients.
