Zhou Xia made her mark by claiming the women’s 100-meter T35 final title in 13.58 seconds, setting a personal best and securing her third consecutive Paralympic victory in the event. Her compatriot Guo Qianqian took the silver with a time of 13.74 seconds.
In the men’s long jump T11 final, Di Dongdong set a new world record of 6.85 meters to win the gold, while Chen Shichang seized the silver with a jump of 6.5 meters.
Yang Hong set a new world record of 2:37.31 in the men’s 200-meter individual medley SM6 final, earning him the first-place finish. Additionally, the Chinese team dominated the mixed 4×50-meter freestyle relay 20 points final, setting another world record with a time of 2:14.98.
While victory is sweet, athletes like Zhang Bowen, who finished eighth in the men’s 400-meter freestyle S11 final, also exemplified the Olympic spirit of resilience and determination, earning the respect and admiration of spectators at the Paralympic Games.
