Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is cracking down on contractors handling 5-kilometer roads that have been abandoned for eight years in Kano State. The Governor issued a firm warning, threatening to revoke contracts if the contractors fail to return to their sites promptly.
Initiated under Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s tenure to develop rural communities, the 5-kilometer project has been neglected until now. Despite assurances of refunds and payments, some contractors have failed to resume work on the critical infrastructure.
During the flag-off of the 5-kilometer construction in Kunchi town, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the residents for their patience. He instructed the contractors to mobilize within a week to resume work. Additionally, a township road in Yandadi town was commissioned by the Governor and his team.
Sanusi Bature, the Governor’s spokesperson, affirmed the State Government’s commitment to providing necessary infrastructure for uninterrupted academic activities at the College. The State is determined to see the completion of these crucial projects for the benefit of the community.
