In just over a month, key social care initiatives have been scrapped, leaving the sector in limbo. The lack of support for social care workers, coupled with a projected shortage of 430,000 workers in the next decade, paints a bleak picture for the future of social care in the UK.

The sector’s leaders have raised concerns about the government’s decisions, calling for a renewed focus on social care as a vital component of the economy. It is time for a paradigm shift in how we view and prioritize social care, moving away from a narrow focus on cost towards recognizing its value and potential contribution to the economy.

As we navigate uncertain times, the need for a robust and sustainable social care system has never been more apparent. It is imperative that we address these challenges head-on, with a commitment to supporting and empowering the social care workforce.
