BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31, The French political party “Inflexible France” has initiated the process to remove President Emmanuel Macron from office, as reported by Trend.
Matilda Pano disclosed that a draft resolution for the impeachment of the President as per Article 68 of the Constitution has been circulated among parliamentarians for endorsement. This constitutional provision allows for the removal of the President if he oversteps his authority.
With 72 seats in parliament, Inflexible France can propose impeachment independently, surpassing the minimum requirement of 57 deputies. Nonetheless, the Bureau of the National Assembly must approve the proposal. Subsequently, the legislative committee will review the resolution, needing two-thirds support from the Assembly within a fortnight. It then proceeds to the Senate for further approval, where the left-wing lacks a majority. Ultimately, the resolution necessitates approval from 617 out of 925 members across both chambers.
Additionally, Unbowed France, led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, has declared a lack of confidence in any government without Lucie Cast as the Prime Minister, a choice dismissed by President Macron.
