Paraguay’s Ministry of Economy and Finance unveiled the 2025 fiscal blueprint to the National Congress, proposing a budget of approximately 132.9 trillion Guarani ($17.557 billion), a 14% increase over the current budget. The plan aims to significantly improve core sectors such as healthcare, education, security, and social protection.
Economy Minister Carlos Fernández Valdovinos outlined key allocations, including $103 million for healthcare, $309 million for education to fund the “Zero Hunger” program, $111 million for security to hire new police officers, and $46 million for social protection to implement the universalized Senior Citizen Program.
Additional funding of $52 million for the justice sector will support projects enhancing justice delivery. The budget emphasizes balance and sustainability, with a projected 7.5% increase in tax collections to provide an extra $870 million while maintaining a deficit limit of 1.9% of GDP.
This strategic financial planning reflects a commitment to improving public services and ensuring sustainable growth for Paraguay, ultimately enhancing citizens’ quality of life and setting the stage for future stability and prosperity.
