The 36-year-old man from Punchbowl was arrested in Sydney and extradited to Victoria, where police allege he is part of a Melbourne-based Chinese/Taiwanese drug syndicate.
Two other men, aged 33, were also arrested last year, connected to the syndicate involved in a 78kg methamphetamine importation hidden inside surfboards shipped from the US.
The AFP intercepted the package and confirmed the white powder inside the surfboards was methamphetamine, leading to a controlled delivery and arrests in Melbourne and Sydney.
The Punchbowl man is facing charges for drug possession and will appear in court in October, while the two other men were charged with drug importation and possession last year.
