Government policies lead to reduction in unemployment and inflation rates: Ahsan Iqbal
The Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, credited the federal government’s policy measures for the decrease in unemployment and inflation rates in Pakistan. He highlighted the PML-N government’s efforts in addressing the power sector’s issues and announced plans to lower power tariffs in the next two years.
Expressing satisfaction over the stock market’s performance, Ahsan Iqbal also mentioned the Punjab government’s initiative of providing relief to residents through a Rs 46 billion package for electricity bills.
Emphasizing the importance of peace and policy continuity for national progress, Ahsan Iqbal stressed the need for stability in Pakistan.
Weekly inflation drops further: SPI data reveals
Recent data from the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) showed a 0.62% decrease in weekly inflation for combined consumption groups. The SPI, covering 17 urban centres and essential items, indicated an increase of 15.34% compared to the previous year.
While some consumption groups saw slight increases, others experienced decreases in prices during the week. Overall, the government’s efforts seem to be positively impacting economic indicators.
