Sindh Launches Solar Power Project Benefiting 1.6 Million Households
In a bid to address the electricity crisis, the Sindh government has launched a project to provide solar panels to 1.6 million low-income households. The initiative aims to tackle the issue of expensive electricity and loadshedding in the region.
During a speech, PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari criticized the Punjab government’s decision to provide power subsidies, warning that short-term relief could lead to long-term suffering. He emphasized the need for sustainable solutions, highlighting the benefits of green energy in resolving the electricity crisis.
The solar home systems project, inaugurated by Bhutto-Zardari, will initially benefit 200,000 families in Larkana and Karachi. The initiative aligns with the PPP’s manifesto vision and commitment to alleviating the burden on lower-income segments of society.
By focusing on renewable energy sources, the Sindh government aims to provide long-lasting relief to the people, emphasizing the importance of affordable electricity for all.
