Joint U.S. and Iraqi Raid Targets ISIS Militants in Western Desert
A joint raid conducted by the United States military and Iraq in the country’s western desert targeted suspected Islamic State group militants, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 individuals and injuries to seven American troops. This operation, which occurred in the Anbar Desert, aimed to disrupt and degrade ISIS’ ability to plan and carry out attacks against Iraqi civilians and U.S. citizens.
The raid successfully targeted key ISIS leaders, destroyed hideouts and weapons, and seized important documents. Although casualties were reported among the militants, there were no indications of civilian casualties.
